it, the two of them. Frank reported later—I met him
at the wake—that it was one of the most
intellectually stimulating evenings, not because
Marshall was telling him stuff, but because they
were investigating stuff. So I think he was an
indomitable investigator, but his powers of
investigation and his skills of investigation were
somewhat derailed sometimes by his terrific need
to show off.
